The objective of Languages Arts is to develop our reading, writing and verbal skills. This skills will be developed through word work such as spelling test, novel studies, grammar work, stories, letters, reports, journals and so much more.

Spelling Work
Each week students will be given a list of sight words to practice for the Friday Spelling Test. To help my students get familiar with the words they will complete the weekly homework. For extra practice, click on this link below to practice and work with the sight word for the week.

Accelerated Reading Program
This is a reading program that will help your student build their confidence and learn to enjoy reading.
At the building of the year, with the assistance of Mrs. Cyr, we completed two different tests of each students reading and comprehension skills. These tests combined with classroom observation is what lead to your students reading level. For some students, this level is below what they may believe they are at or where they were at last year. This has two purposes which are to increase their confidence and work on their reading skills (such as comprehension and vocabulary) to be a stronger reader. |
