The following are just a few of the resources that I have incorporated into my classroom at various.
Weebly- A site to develop free online websites. I have used this resource to have students create their own websites but also to post my own webquests and lesson resources for my students.
Padlet- An alternative to twitter. This program works the same a twitter but students are not required to sign up. As the teacher create a 'wall' that you can use privately by giving students a code to the 'wall'. As well, you can add a feature where you can preview posts before they are viewed by the class which allows you to monitor students understanding and application of what it means to be a digital citizenship.
SMARTboard- I find this program effective for all of my units. It is a fantastic resource that allows students the visual and audio aid to engage students in the lesson as it allows for graphic organizers, weblinks, games, interactive lesson activities and videos to all be placed in one resource to create a virtual lesson plan for myself and my students.
SMARTboard Response- This is a program that allows you to test your students knowledge through a personal response device. Through this program you can ask your students true/false, yes/no, math questions, multiple response, multiple answer questions to assess their understand.
Microsoft Office- These programs are my go to for starting projects as it is the programs which established all my computer skills. I believe that once students understand how to proficiently use all of these programs than it is simply a matter of transferring their skills to understand how other programs such as Google Drive and Slideshark are set up before they have mastered these programs as well.
Google Drive- This resource allows you to collaborate and share projects that you are working on with other or at different locations so that you are not limited by scheduling or the device that you are using.
iPAD Apps- Team Shake, Basketball Coach's Clipboard, Pikeme are all apps that I have used to enhance my students learning or coaching experience.
Prezi- Is an advance version of power point which allows you to flip, link and move dramatically from topic to topic creating a storytelling presentation which can be used to supplement a speech or as a video. I find that student love using this program but they need to have the basic PowerPoint skills or they can find this program hard to manipulate.
SlideShark- An online version of PowerPoint allows you to easily access and share presentations without worrying about if you emailed it to yourself or have your USB with you.
GoNoddle- This site is a brain break website that allows students the opportunity to do numerous activities such as dancing, different sports and stretching but add a twist of a game by having a class mascot and levels that they increase the more they participate.
Wordle- This programs takes words that are brainstormed and creates a text cloud which is a wonderful tool for brainstorming or formative assessment.
Poll Everywhere- Similar to the SMARTboard Response this app allows you to ask students true/false, multiple choice or opinion questions with the use of their cellphone.
